Who We Are

Our Story and Mission

Who We Are

Cherish Families was founded and is largely staffed by people from polygamous backgrounds. With our deep understanding of the fears and barriers that people from this background can experience, we are compassionate, empathetic, and uniquely qualified to serve the population.

Our guiding philosophy and founding principles are cultural competence and strengths-based, trauma informed services with complete regard and respect for the dignity of the individual. We focus on strengthening their capacities and ensuring self-determination. To that end, we offer a variety of supporting services that can assist an individual to reach stability and independence, depending on their needs.

Mission

We connect individuals and families, primarily those from polygamous cultures, with tools and resources for generational success.

“Helping, fixing and serving represent three different ways of seeing life. When you help, you see life as weak, when you fix, you see life as broken, when you serve, you see life as whole. Fixing and helping may be the work of the ego and service the work of the soul.”
